Summary Of CPR or First Aid( Dixie R. Galvez)

Summary of CPR Or First Aid:

Caring for children can be a very rewarding and challenging career choice. Not only does this job take a patient, energetic, and dedicated person, It also demands a responsible, intelligent, and quick thinking individual. A Child care provider must have the ability to respond with calmness and intelligence in the event of an emergency.

As day care providers, it is essential to establish plans and procedures ahead of time to ensure the proper responses when the unexpected odes occur. These plans and procedures should include proper training in lifesaving and first aid techniques by all employees, notarized permissions for treatment, a listing of emergency telephone numbers, first aid supplies, and transportation.

If a child has been involved in an accident, no matter how minor, it is important to document the incident in writing and give this information to the parents and keep a copy for your records.

A child may be injured in what initially appears to you as minor incident, so you decide no further care is needed. For example, suppose a child falls and hits his head. Several minutes later, he tells you he wants to play again. After he returns home,he begins to vomit. Without a written report of that seemingly minor fall to his parents, his parents nay assume that he has a virus. But, by knowing that he had a fallen earlier in the day, it becomes necessary for the parents to have a child examined for a more serious head injury. A sample accident report form was provided. Please check with your licensing agency to make sure all necessary information is included on the form you use. Again, You are urged to document all injuries, no matter how minor they may appear.

All day care providers are encouraged to participate in a hands on certified training program that includes basic first aid and CPR training. A Hands on program will  help ensure an efficient and effective response when accidents take place.

Remember, You can never be too cautious when children are concerned!

Remember: Don´t let the dead to take care of your child. You don´t expect the child to be alive while the care take care is dead!
