:Bleeding:
When a child receives injuries that result in severe bleeding, It is important for you to remain calm and act quickly. To stop the bleeding, You should do as follows.
1.) Place sterile gauze or clean material over the wound, applying firm pressure directly on the wound.
2.) Apply pressure for 5 to 10 minutes, while elevating the bleeding part on a pillow.
3.) To slow bleeding and decrease swelling, place an ice pack wrapped in cloth on the wound.
4.) If bleeding persists, Place another sterile gauze over the other. Do not remove the first gauze.
5.) If the bleeding stops, secure the gauze. If bleeding continues, apply pressure on the nearest pressure point above the injury.
:Electric Shock:
Electric shock does not account for a great number of injuries in day care facilities, but it is always important to be prepared if an accident does occur. The most important to be prepared if an accident does occur. The most important instruction to remember is to never touch a child until the source of electricity has been disconnected, Whether it is unplugging a cord, removing a fuse, or turning off the main breaker switch. Make certain that you are standing on a dry surface when pushing a child away from source of current. Do not use your hands to push the child away use a dry newspaper or stick. Perform the following steps after a child has received an electrical shock:
1.) Perform CPR if the child is not breathing or has no pulse,
2.) Observe and treat signs of shock and burns, and
3.) Transport the child to a medical facility as quickly as possible.
