                                                                               " Safety Checklist"


    1.) Windows are secured with locks or guards.
    2.) Furniture is kept away from windows.
    3.) Steps have hand rails and non slip treads.
    4.) Safety gates guards the top and bottom of stairways
    5.) Rugs and Carpets are Secure.
    6.) Toilet lids are kept down.
    7.) Bathroom door can be unlocked from the outside and inside.
    8.) Medication and cleaning products are kept locked in cabinets
    9.) Art materials must be non-toxic.
    10.) Plants kept away from children.
    11.) Smoke detectors installed.
    12.) Fire escape plan made and practiced.
    13.) Fire extinguisher installed.
    14.) Unused electrical outlets covered with safety caps.
    15.) Electrical appliances kept away from water.
    16.) Candles, Matches, Lighters, kept away from children.
    17.) Furnishing, bedding and carpets  are flame resistant.
    18.) Tablecloths and placemats are  not used, so children cannot pull food, beverages or other items             down.
    19.) Sturdy toys with no small pieces to swallow.
    20.) Plastic bags and thin plastic film kept away from children.
    21.) Rattles, Teethers and squeeze toys  removed from crib while baby is sleeping.
    22.) Toys with no sharp edges.
    23.) Glass doors have safety glass.
    24.) Drawers are locked.
    25.) Pens, Pencils and flatware out of child's reach when not being used.
    26.) While outside, Lawn is kept clean and out of glass, nails, tools.
    27.) Play equipment has no open spaces for a child's head to get caught in"
