                                    :Introduction To First Aid:


    We are all well aware that accidents, Injuries and illness are going to occur in a day care setting. Children run and fall, babies get infections, and toddlers bump their heads. As a care provider, You will undoubtedly goes. " It comes with the territory!"



    In lesson 8 you were introduced to the emergency first aid procedures used when accidents, injuries, and illness occur while caring for children. In this Career Report, we expand on the discussion of first aid for children, including more information on:


    = Preparing for emergencies and other injuries,
    = Knowing what steps to take when an injury first occurs,
    = Taking the right actions after assessing a child's injury and
    = Being aware of the difference between emergencies and other injuries, and knowing how to treat                 such cases.


    Note that this report is in no way meant to be a substitute for hands on training, which is recommended or required for care providers in most States.
WE strongly encourage  you to complete a certified training program in basic first aid and cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR). Such training programs are available from most chapters of the ( American Red Cross) and  The ( American Heart Association).

    A nearby fire department, rescue squad, hospital, or high school may also offer training in first Aid And CPR.
