1.) A bystander or delegated person must call 911 to activate the Emergency Medical Services. Do not assume that someone knows to call or will call. Take charge, " You in the blue shirt ( or call out to the person by name), Call 911!" People react very differently in emergency situations.

2.) When Placing a call to 911, the following information is needed:

    a.) The location of the emergency, including address, crossroads, and landmarks. This information should         also be posted near the phone. Again, when people are in the middle of an emergency, they may panic         and forget simple information.

    b.) The Nature of the emergency, including how many people are injured and what first aid is being                     administered.

It is imperative that you do not hang up until the operator tells you to do so.
