                                        "Emergency Arrangements"


    By making emergency arrangements prior to an emergency, a child care provider is more likely to remain calm and in charge while assisting an injured or ill child. The following items should be completed as part of a daycare facility's emergency preparedness:


    1.) A completely equipped first aid kit (See the list of items to be included in a first aid kit, below),

    2.) Emergency numbers for police, Ambulance, Poison Control center, and Fire department must             be posted at every telephone.

    3.) An alternate physician and dentist on whom to call if a child's health care provider is not                         available.

    4.) Arrangements for families with religious or other beliefs Prohibiting medical treatment.

    5.) Arrangements for emergency transportation,

    6.) Additional numbers readily available for the gas, oil electric, heating and plumbing companies,             and

    7.) A staff that is trained to communicate with emergency services.
