:Distinguishing Between Emergencies And Other Injuries, And Knowing How To Treat Them:

Emergency care and first aid are needed in different situations, depending on the severity of a child's injury or illness. As stated earlier, it is impossible to be prepared for every unexpected accident and injury that may occur in a day care setting, despite proper training, Planning and supervision. However, It is important to know when accidents occur, that someone on staff will know how to treat the injury or illness correctly.
As a first step, this means knowing the difference between life threatening  conditions, which need immediate emergency care, and minor injuries, which can be treated with first aid by trained employees.

: Life Threatening Conditions:

As a care provider, You should know what emergency care is needed when death or serious injury may result. This does not mean that you must be trained in the medical field. What it does mean is that you should be properly trained to take the initial measures necessary before additional emergency assistance. Life threatening conditions include the following.

1.) Absence of breathing
2.) Airway Obstruction
3.) Shock
4.) Asthma ( Struggle breathing, cold with flu.
5.) Bleeding
6.) Electric shock
7.) Head Injuries
8.) Poisoning.
